23. John O'Hanlon - 171. Born 1870 in Dublin. Died 1935 or 30/12/1931. Occupation Carpenter, House.

When his parents Mary Sefton & Joseph O Hanlon died, his aunt Sarah Sefton, who was married to Thomas Kelly took him in in the same way that Jane Sefton (Davies) took in Mary Jane & Joseph O'Hanlon.. While in the Kelly home, Lizzie Kelly became sweet on hime and when his wife Hanna died she helped with raising his children.

Migrated to USA in 1893 with his wife Hanna & infant daughter Anne as well as most of the Kellys. Ship was the Lord Clive, leaving Liverpool on 24 May & arrived in Philadelphia on 5 June. His daughters Lizzie, Sarah & Mary had gone to the US in 1892 with Sarah's husband William Magann, were unhappy there & wrote to their parents telling them not to come. but they left before the letter arrived. They were living at the time of their parents' arrival at 329 Pine(?) Street, Camden.

In the 1910 Census he is listed as a lodger, along with his children Hanna & Joseph in the home of Mary & Thomas Kelly. His son John had be sent to another family to be reared and his daughter Anne died in a fire. Elizabeth Kelly is listed as single.

1920 census records Elizabeth Kelly as single & as John O'Hanlon's cousin.

In 1920 address was 432 Senate Street, rented accommodation.

1930 census lists Elizabeth as John's wife. They had married around 1929/30.

He was never completely happy in the US & had bought tickets to go home in 1935 but died of a heart attack before travelling A USA memorial card for a John O Hanlon shows his death on 30/12/1931.

He second married Elizabeth Kelly, daughter of Thomas Kelly & Sarah Sefton, 1929 in Camden, New Jersey. Born September 1867/1870 in Dublin. Died 8 November 1951 in Camden, New Jersey. Occupation Lace Maker. Funeral director was Robert J Blake, 851 Haddon Avenue, Camden, NJ.

Migrated to USA in 1892 with sisters Mary, Sarah & Sarah's husband, William Magann, possibly on Indiana, from Liverpool to New York, arriving 3 October 1892.

In 1920 census described as 'single' & 'cousin'. In 1930 census described as 'wife'. She had married John O'Hanlon when both were around 60 years old.

He first married Hannah Downing, 1890 in Dublin. Born 1869 in Dublin?. Died ? 1907 in Camden, New Jersey.
